A vendor framework that does not include an NPC, to cut down on 3D assets required.
These screens would be used in a place where the vendor’s function doesn’t require a game character, or a character is omitted due to art constraints.
Built to be a very pared down experience, that explicitly does not contain the following capabilities:
Quest Overlays
Engram Decryption
3D Cinematic Assets
Reputation
My Role
As the Technical Designer on this feature, I needed to determine how we could re-utilize data already in other vendors and combine them for this screen.
In addition to this, I aided with identifying areas of visual polish that could elevate the fantasy and fill in for the lack of NPC performance.
One place where I found success with this is in the radial animation, adding motion and life to an otherwise stagnant screen experience.
